Building a website can be prtty compilcated, or very simple - it all depends on what you are looking for. Some of the tools we have used include:

If you are looking for an online repository of information, MediaWiki might be a solution. If you want to create a wiki, why not use the software that was developed for, and continues to power, the biggest wiki of all -  wikipedia?
